30 day Challenge- Day 1 Remembering

I wanted to join Shannon at Eat, Pray, Love...LIVE!!!! for her 30 day challenge. I finally decided on my topic, I am going to be doing (or trying to do) 30 days of remembering (or memories). So stay tuned and I hope you all enjoy!

Today I am going to be remembering the day M and I first met. As some of you know, M and I met on eHarmony. He had winked at me, and I ignored the first one (due to me being out of the country). When I got back I looked through his pictures.....this is the one that caught my eye.
I really love this picture of him
However, he had a few other pictures that made me a little nervous. I am a city girl at heart, and from his pictures I could tell he was NOT a city boy.

See what I mean? While I still thought he was extremely hot, even covered in mud, I was worried what I might be getting myself into, or how much we could really have in common. I however kept looking back at the first picture and decided what the heck, I liked what he had written in his profile so I sent him the first set of questions. We went through the whole question/answer thing and made it to open communication (emails). We emailed back and forth a little, then Friday August 28th (it's sick that I know this date huh?) I came home from work and saw I had a message from him. It basically said "here's my number.....but I won't hold my breath." I was like "geeze", I think I sat there staring at the computer screen for a good 5-10 minutes thinking "what the heck should I do, I am not one to call first, ever" So, I took a deep breath and picked up my cell phone before I could change my mind and called him. Of course with my luck it went to voice mail! I had to leave him a message. And can you believe it.......he didn't call me back that night! I waited on pins and needles all night, checking to make sure I had a good enough signal or enough battery. Needless to say he didn't call.......until the next afternoon. I was up at my mom's house hanging out while she was out of town, I was grading some papers and had fallen asleep on the couch. Go figure, that is the time he decides to call. I answered and tried to quickly erase the cobwebs in my brain and sound somewhat intelligent. I thought we had a great hour long conversation. He was funny....I was giggly, and he was sooooo easy to talk to. I think it's pretty rare to find a guy that can sit on the phone that long and keep the conversation going with a girl. We decided to meet up that night at a bar called Linksters. I convinced two of my girlfriends to come with me, just in case something went wrong, or he wasn't who he said he was. (You can never be too careful)
That night my girlfriend and I got all dressed up (I even remember what I was wearing) and headed out. We got there early so I could have a drink and calm down a little. Finally he showed up.....and let me tell you the butterflies were going CRAZY in my stomach. He was even better than his pictures! That of course made me so much more nervous. He sat down, we officially introduced ourselves and I introduced my friends. We talked and talked, he was as easy to talk to in person as he was on the phone.....bonus! I'm sure I wasn't the easiest to talk to because let me tell you, I was pretty dumbfounded that a guy like him was sitting there talking to a girl like me. I just couldn't believe my luck. We decided to go to another bar that had dancing. I had an amazing time! He even kissed me that night! I was on cloud nine when he dropped my friend and I back at my car to go home at the end of the night. I have to say that was one of the best first dates I have ever been on, and I'm not just saying that because I married him. It truly was a great first somewhat blind date ever! I think I talked about him the whole way back to my friends house. I believe he even texted me that night to make sure I made it home ok and to say goodnight. How sweet huh? I was smitten.....

Stay tuned for another memory tomorrow! If you want, head on over to Eat, Pray, Love.....LIVE! and link up for the challenge!
