Weekend Recap

This weekend was a good one. M tagged me in a picture on Facebook the other day and it made me think.

It made me think that maybe I do need to slow down a bit and try to not cram as much in on the weekends as I can. Usually when M is gone I go crazy trying to clean the house, get all dishes done, laundry done and any other little projects done that I don't get a chance to do during the week.
This weekend M was at Boy Scout camp (He is now a troop's assistant scout master and I couldn't be more proud of him) and it was just the kids and I at home. Instead of rushing around and getting everything done, I spent time with the kids. We made cleaning a game, they helped with laundry, we played outside, watched movies, spent time with Grandma and just took it easy.
Let me tell you. It was exactly what I needed. Don't get me wrong, I had some anxiety knowing M was coming home and the house wasn't clean, I was afraid he would tell me how crappy the house looked and I didn't want to feel horrible and that I was a horrible wife for not having a sparkling house. But he never said one word to me about it. And for that I am thankful
I wish I had some actual pictures to prove everything, but I don't. :(

So, I am trying to slow down a bit. Not sure how well I will do with this, but I am trying to make more time for my family and for me to relax. I need to relax every now and then.

How do you react when your spouse is gone? Do you feel the need to clean the second he leaves?

Need some hair advice

Hello! I promise I will get caught up on my Project 365, but first I have a question to ask all of you. I am starting to get gray hair :( I have so far been able to cover it with just getting highlights every 6 months (it's mainly just in the front near my part). However, now it's getting to the point where I will need to do it more than every 6 months and I cannot afford to keep getting it done. Plus I've gone from just highlights to some color and highlights.
So, what I'm thinking about doing is coloring my own hair. I've never done it before and have no idea where to start. Do any of you do your own color/highlights? What brand do you use or recommend? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm tired of seeing the gray and I'm only 31 :(

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day from our family to yours. I forgot to take pics of the kids this morning, but hopefully I can get some tonight. Not that they are wearing anything special, but it's still nice to have a picture of them.

The husband and I didn't met in the conventional way, we met on eHarmony, went on our first date and the rest is history. If you would like to read all about it, you can see it here. :)

We discussed Valentine's Day about a week ago. I told my husband that I would much rather have a date night with him then any present. So, he made the arrangements by deciding where we were going and getting us a babysitter.

Of course he didn't hold true to not getting me anything and got me a shooting vest for when we go skeet shooting! I'm so excited!!! Now I can carry my own ammo. :) Plus the trim is pink. It's super cute! I can't wait to go out and try it!

M then decided we would go to Bone Fish Grill. I had never been there (one it's expensive and two I'm not a huge seafood fan), but let me tell you, it was one of the BEST dinners I have ever had! The food was amazing and so was my company. I tell you what, it was an amazing night for it being so low key. I am so glad we didn't let the lady on the phone who told us there were no reservations before 8:45pm that night and the wait was 50 mins. Thank goodness! We actually only had to wait about 10 mins to get seated. It was perfect!!!!!

We have had a few bumps again lately and finally I feel like we are reconnecting and things are going in the right direction again. I'm not sure if I have changed or what, but I am positive things are going in the right direction. We will get over this and we will be stronger for it. :)

So, I will leave you with the most recent pic of me and my hunky hubby and say, Happy Valentine's Day to you and your family! May you all enjoy your day, whether it's big or small, enjoy the ones you love.

Love iPhone pics :)
