Our (Very Early) Spring Break

Our school district decided it would be a good idea to have our spring break in early March. Not quite sure why they thought that was a good idea, but it is what it is. We didn't do much over spring break this year, which is fine by me. It was nice to just hang out and relax.
We ended up sending the kids to preschool for two days. That was much needed for me. Because you all know even if your husband is at home, if your kids are there, you aren't fully relaxing. Anyways. One day M and I went to the gun range together (which was a lot of fun), one day we just ran around town, M installed our new doggie door (which our cat loves and the dog won't use), we got new lamps for our living room that actually match, M and I went to the Cabaret with some family friends. It was a nice week that of course went too fast. The Cabaret was ok, not as good as the one we went to before, but the company was great. It was called Urban Cowboy. Three of the singers were good, but two really sucked. They couldn't keep their tone. But it was nice still nice to get out without the kids.

They both had to sit down below

I love this man!

I enjoyed having M home for spring break this year. I believe this is the first year in two years that he has been home with us. So, that alone was nice. It's going to be a long haul until the end of the school year.

Friday Letters (forgot to post yesterday)

Oh my goodness! I never thought Friday would get here! Thank goodness it finally did!

Dear Students: I know we have had to speed up in our lessons to get ready for the End of Course exam, but come-on! I think you can read a question better than that. You are putting in no effort anymore and your grades are starting to show it. I'm quite disappointed.

Dear weather: Could we get a little warmer and have a little more sunshine please?  A week of cold and wet is not making me happy. I left Michigan for a reason.

Dear Kids: Thank you so very much for sleeping through the night last night. It was super nice to not be woken up for once.

Dear Thomas: Booger is going to be sooooo excited that we will be seeing you on Sunday! He is obsessed with you. Every little boys dream. :) plus his best friend is coming with us. How can it get any better?

Dear AP: I'm not happy with you right now. I feel you are treating us teachers very unprofessionally and when it involves my evaluation that goes into my file, it's not ok!

Dear Spring Break: I sure do miss you! It was nice being home for a week and even getting in some alone time with my hubby. I wish you were later in the year though, it is going to be a LONG time before we get another day off. :(

Have a great weekend!!!!!!

Friday Letters 3/8

It's Friday! Thank goodness! Tomorrow starts my spring break and I am sooo looking forward to a week without having to see my students.

Dear parents of students: If your child is failing more than one class why are you letting them play sports and taking them to Disney over break??? I'm sorry but if I had been failing even ONE class, my butt would have been home every night studying and doing what ever I could to bring my grades up. It just shows you that many of the parents down here don't show their students the importance of an education. And they don't make the kids excel. As long as we aren't calling home, they are perfectly content letting their kids do what ever they want. Ugh!

Dear Students. Stop being lazy!!!!!! Also when you're on the computer, stop trying to sneak games. I have a nifty little program that lets me see everyone's screens and I can see EXACTLY what you are doing. I catch you every time.

Dear spring break: Oh have I been looking forward to you. No actual plans set, but still looking forward to not having to come to work for 5 whole days. YEA!!!!!!

Dear sickness: I would appreciate if you would leave my body. K? Thanks! I haven't really slept in 4 days and it hurts to swallow, you are making me miserable. Please go away!

Dear husband: I just love you. Even when your back is hurting and you're being an ass.....I love you.

Dear Booger: I love you to the moon and back, but can we grow out of the whiny stage now? I'm kinda over it and would love to have my little stinker back. Thanks!

Dear Pretty Girl: Please start sleeping through the night again. I know we started caging the dog and she isn't sleeping with you, but please, pretty please start sleeping through the night again. I also know your teeth hurt, I mean three molars at once is a lot, but I know we both could use our sleep. :)

Dear Roxy: I swear I have thought about letting you "loose" in our neighborhood numerous time over the last couple of days. Seriously if you can't figure out how to stop chewing up the nipples to bottles or the tops to the kids cups, their books, and anything else you think might taste good, I might just murder you. Seriously! I know you are a puppy, but c'mon! Plastic?!?!?! That cannot taste good, nor digest good. Let's work on this ASAP, or I might just cage you all.of.the.time.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I hoping for some much needed sleep. :) Happy Friday!!!!

From Pinterest to Project and this weekend

Pinterest project
This weekend I had book club with my friends. Every month we get together at someones house and everyone brings something to share. I generally try to bring something different every month. This month I was going to try mini lasagnas, then I got lazy and didn't want to go to the grocery store so I decided to make brownies because I had everything I needed to make them. Haha! Joke was on me......we didn't have an egg...insert fail here. So we had to go to the store anyways. I went down the baking isle and saw pie crust and changed my mind again. I decided to make this:

Looks yummy huh?
The recipe tells you to make your own crust and it's supposed to be all vegan and such. Well I bought an already made pie crust, bought some strawberries and the chocolate chips. I also used regular milk instead of soymilk and cut out the liquor.

This is how it turned out. It was amazing!

My creative drizzling kinda sucks, but oh well

It tasted like a giant chocolate covered strawberry with chocolate crust. It was great and the girls all enjoyed it too! I think if I make this again I will get a graham cracker crust next time. But I will probably make it again seeing as it was sooooo easy.

Weekend recap
As you know book club was Saturday night. That morning Pretty girl got me up early and I decided that I would try and get some stuff done around the house seeing as M was at drill. First order of business was taking down the crib. *sniff, sniff* I can't believe our little girl is big enough to be out of her crib. Their room looks huge now, but it's great to finally have that put away seeing as we aren't using it anymore.

Bye bye crib.....can't believe it's finally down
I also moved a dresser, cleaned 80% of the house and got about 80% of the laundry done and a box of baby stuff ready to ship out hopefully this week. And this was all before noon. I was pretty pleased with myself, as well as tired. I seem to be pretty motivated when M is gone.

Book club was fun and relaxing. I really enjoy my book club nights. One of my friends is going through a hard time in her marriage right now. I feel so bad for her and wish there was more I could do for her, except be there for her. You never want to see your friends going through tough times.

Today I did a little cleaning, hung out with my mom, took a nap and just hung out with the kids. It was a relaxing day. I didn't have the motivation to finish the cleaning today :( ah well. It will get done eventually.
It's been cold here the last couple of days. I don't mind it too much, especially growing up in Michigan, this isn't too bad. But my poor Florida kids don't like the cold at all. Booger complains about it all of the time. :)

Now I am just waiting for M to get home from drill.

I hope you all had a great weekend!
