Weekend Update

First off I want to start off by thanking everyone who sent supportive messages and texts. It really means the world to me. As of right now we are in a somewhat good place. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but I do know I won't go down without a fight. I just have to decide where that line is and how much I am willing to deal with. I just miss my husband and the life we had before the deployment and PTSD.

Thursday was take your child to work day. I decided to bring Booger with me to work. Let me tell you, he NEVER. STOPPED. TALKING! The students all thought he was super cute and he ate up the attention, but I don't think he stopped once.

At work with mommy!
This weekend we spent literally at home, all weekend. It was a nice change. M blew up the little pool and the kids had a blast playing in it and riding Booger's John Deer Tractor all over the yard. He rode it so much over the weekend, that by Sunday night the battery was dead. It was very relaxing. M got the yard mowed, some other things organized and played with the kids. I was able to take a nap to get rid of my headache on Saturday.

In the pool again on Sunday

Saturday night we had a small hiccup, but by Sunday everything seemed to be ok. I'm sure he wanted everything to go back to the way things were, and so do I. However, I noticed I was being quite distant this weekend. I'm having a harder time getting over the comments he makes, even after he says he's sorry. I want things to go back to "normal", but I'm also afraid that if I keep letting everything go, nothing will ever change. I think he needs to know how much he has hurt me, especially recently.

Sunday was more of the same. Playing outside and enjoying the nice weather. M got a few more things done around the house. Then gave the kids a bath last night. It's really nice to have help with bath time.

Anywho. I'm glad to be back to work and able to focus on my students and getting the school year wrapped up. I think we are down to about 23 days of school left. It's hard to believe.

Last Monday I started off with a plank-a-day and a wall-sit-a-day and did pretty good, until my world feel down on Friday. Let's hope I can get back on the band wagon. :)

So here's to another week. Let's hope this week is better than the last. :) I hope you all have a great Monday!!!!

Friday Letters

It's Friday and I couldn't be happier. This has been on heck of a week!

Dear FCAT: I really do hate you. I hate the amount of pressure you put on the students and teachers and how high stakes you are. Not cool!

Dear Students: I know you think the school year is over now that testing is, but guess what??? It's not. We have a lot of work to still get done. Please don't check out on me now. P.S. I have NOT enjoyed having some of you for extended times this week. Boo to poor behavior.

Dear Tax Season: I am so so so so so so glad you are done! I finally get my mommy back! It was so nice to have dinner with her and the kids Tuesday night and the possibility of seeing her on Saturday instead of only Sundays.

Dear In-Laws: How dare you let your pride get in the way of your relationship between your son and grandchildren. I should never have to hear my husband tell me that he thinks his parents don't like him or that if something bad happened to him, they wouldn't care. Shame on you!!!!! You have created this mess and it is up to you to grow up, take responsibility for once and clean it up! You can read what happened here.

Dear EOC (End of course exam): I'm not looking forward to you. You have me so very stressed out and I'm not happy about it. I HATE teaching to a test, yet you are making me. I HATE having to change the way I do things and the way that works because it doesn't fit into your time frame.

Dear Spring: Where did you go??? I would like you to come back. I want the sunshine and warm days without the humidity. K? Thanks!

Dear Garage Sale: I'm disappointed we didn't sell the stuff we wanted to. I know we didn't really advertise or prepare for it. But I thought our baby stuff would have gone. I guess I will be putting it on Craigslist. Let's just hope we can get some of this sold. I want the extra stuff GONE!

Dear Roxy (Our puppy): You are lucky you are cute and the kids and M love you. Because if it was up to me, you would be gone. I swear if you chew up another one of Booger's cups, I will go ballistic on you and you may find yourself on craigslist. I am NOT a fan of yours right now.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I am hoping we will have a great one too!

P.S. Here are some photos :) Enjoy!

Follow me on Bloglovin! Pretty Please :)

I don't mean to beg, I really don't. :) I did a post awhile ago with a button to follow me on bloglovin, but that was just when I signed up on bloglovin. I have decided to jump on the bandwagon and post another one, especially with GFC going away. I usually read blogs off my blogger main page, but I'm starting to kind of enjoy bloglovin, especially when I am on my phone. :)

Visiting Thomas

There is this amazing event called A Day Out with Thomas. It travels around the US and recently came to a railroad museum near us. We have a 3 year old boy who LOVES trains, so this seemed like a great event to take him too. M loves trains too, so this appealed to his inner child. :) We ended up going with M's best friend and his son and daughter. We went the last day the train was in town and it wasn't a very nice day, but with it being cloudy I think it helped keep the temperature down, which was nice. Booger had a GREAT time and was super exhausted when we were done. Pretty girl enjoyed herself as well. They had bouncy slides, pictures with Sir. Topham Hatt, a ride with Thomas where you actually got to ride a train, food and of course the merchandise tent.
It was a great day as a family! I'm so glad we were able to visit with Thomas this year.
Now here are the pictures.

We all really had a great time! We also ran into another set of M's friends while we were there. It's such a small world. :)

Milspouse First Friday Fill-In

It's that time again, time for the Milspouse first Friday Fill-In! Head over to Wife of a Sailor and link up!

1. What is one thing in the past month you would have changed?
Probably one thing would be the way some things occurred between my husband and I. We had a not so great couple of weeks and I would like to take those back. Just thinking about them makes me sad and my heart hurt.

2. What is your favorite thing that happened in March?
Probably that we had spring break and I was able to spend some time at home with the kids and some alone time with my husband. Also, that we got a new to us washer and dryer that I love. I know it's weird but I love getting new appliance, especially if they make my life easier.
3. What are you looking forward to in April?
Tax season being over so I can see my mom more. And so she can relax and be happy again. Also, to be done with the dreaded FCAT (Florida's standardized test) test. I hate all of the pressure leading up to that week.
4. What is your favorite thing about spring?
When I lived in Michigan it was always the smell of new things, of grass being freshly cut and being able to wear just a sweatshirt outside. Here is it being able to have the air off and the house open. I love when there is no humidity in the air and everything feels new again.

5. What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?
I have no idea how to answer this. Probably purses. I love bags and purses alike. I also love to read.

Things are looking up

M and I talked to the people at preschool yesterday. They are aware of the situation and basically said Booger plays with everyone but they are keeping an eye on the situation. It made me feel a lot better. Especially because M was the one who brought it up when we picked the kids up. That melted my heart. We did find out the main culprit is M's best friend's son, which is sad, but maybe it can get taken care of easier than if it was someone elses kid.
Booger has been talking about having to do homework like for the past week. What kid WANTS to do homework? Well, mine does. So I asked and they gave me some things for him to work on, which was great. I also found this great website that has free printable pages to learn how to print, write numbers, count, shapes, etc. I printed some pages off yesterday and created a little folder for him. He should LOVE this. Hopefully his willingness to do homework will continue. :)

Folder just for Booger

Today my students are taking a test. The first few tests that came in yesterday were disappointing. I'm hoping those that are taking the second day to get it done will do better. Let's hope, I'm crossing my fingers and toes. I don't have time to go back and re-teach this chapter, which drives me crazy!
Work is picking up in speed now that we are at the end of the year. We just started the 4th quarter, which means a bunch of parent/teacher meetings to inform those parents (that really should know) that their kid will either be in summer school or repeating the same grade next year. Those are always fun to have. I have WAY too many kids in course recovery that aren't getting anything done. This is going to be a stressful 9 weeks, plus throw FCAT and our new Civics End of Course Exam in there and it's bound to be SUPER stressful. At least we are on the downward end. 40 something days left. :)
Today feels like it's going to be a great day. I haven't felt this way in a LONG time and it feels amazing! I feel like things are hopefully going to start working in our favor and hopefully some things will finally fall into place.
Now here are some random pictures from my phone of my two cute kiddos. :) Enjoy and happy Wednesday!!!!
