Life Update

I think it's time for a little update, don't you?

We are in our fifth week of school. That means Booger has been a kindergartner for 5 full weeks. Eeekkk! It has been an adjustment, that's for sure. He has received a not so stellar not home once each week. His punishment is to lose the ipad for the night and to go to bed early. Trust me, not getting a movie before bed or to play on the ipad is a killer for him right now. Thankfully after that he's really good the next day. Hopefully he will start to listen and follow directions soon. He keeps making slow progress each week and I am so impressed with how far he has come! :) His teacher is pretty amazing too!

School is going ok for me so far. It's kind of boring because I have everything already planned out from what I did last year. So, I don't feel too overwhelmed at work right now. Which is a blessing and I know it won't stay this way forever, but it's just kind of annoying right now. I've lost about 15 lbs this summer. I feel amazing and was finally able to bring out my old wardrobe from when I met M 6 years ago (and was my skinniest) and let me tell you, it feels amazing!!!! I have about another 10 to go, but I'm happy with my progress thus far. Although I am getting tired of always feeling nauseous after I eat. That has been happening for the past week and I'm just kind of over it now.
Left was me in like April and on the right was last week. Both not flattering pics, but I think it shows some weight loss.

Pretty Girl is quite the two year old. She HATES being referred to as a baby and wants to be older than she is. She is cute, thankfully. But her attitude is going to rear it's ugly head in about 10 years. :( Not looking forward to that.

I am trying out some of the Young LIfe Essential Oils. One of my girlfriends from book club swears by them, so I am hoping they will help our family out. If any of you have used them before, I am open to any and all suggestions :) I feel very overwhelmed by the whole process and knowing which one to use for what.

I am super excited for my Origami Owl business. I LOVE the new products they just came out with. I wish I was independently wealthy so I could buy it ALL! But alas I am not, so I wil have to keep myself in check and wait for some commissions. :)

We had a pretty good Labor Day weekend. We really didn't do much other than relax at home and watch movies, but it was just awesome all of us being together. M has been gone a lot with the military and his job, so having him home for an entire weekend was awesome. Plus he's just awesome! He has been pretty amazing lately and it's been great. He is also an amazing daddy and our two munchkins think the world of him. I LOVE watching them play together and interact. I could watch it all day long. Especially him and our daughter together. It's too cute!

Oh my new car has been awesome with the long drive I have to do each day. I can't remember if I talked about my new car or not. I used to have a Ford Escape. It was my first SUV as well as my first brand new car. It was great, but sucked on gas milage. Speed forward and M's mom got a Ford CMax (their hybrid) and was telling me how great it was on gas milage and how roomy it was. M and I started looking at them, but not very seriously. Then this summer my air went out on my escape and I thought it was time to get a new vehicle. Thankfully M was awesome enough to put some money down on my car so I was able to get the car I wanted with all of the options I wanted. How awesome is that? I was going to settle with the next car down, but thanks to him, I was able to get the one I was drooling over for weeks. Needless to say I LOVE my new car! It doesn't have the amount of trunk space my escape had, but it hasn't been an issue yet. Plus the savings at the gas pump have been awesome!
This is after I got my windows tinted. You cannot live in Florida and now have windows tinted

Let's see....what else is new????

DIY project success!

I sure love it when I want to do a small DIY project and it turns out as good as I expected or better. I am by no means a creative person, but I do love it when I can do something and have it turn out nice.

With Booger being in Kindergarten we get a TON of papers home every.single.day. Let me tell you. We are drowning in papers. So, I was going through Pinterest to find some ideas on what I could do to help out with the massive amount of paperwork. With some thinking and talking it over with M, I came up with an idea and put it together all today.

This is what I came up with :)

I picked up the clear folder holders from Staples (they came in a pack of three) as well as the colored folders. I already had the colored stickers from a previous project. I also used small 3M hooks to hang them on the wall.
I added folder for Booger's paperwork

I used glitter stickers to label each one :)

These are around the corner when you walk in through the garage. I think it will be a great way to keep all of us organized.

How do you keep all of your papers organized?

Baby Shower

No it's not mine. This baby making machine is done. However, I did get to celebrate with my friend and neighbor Heather. Let me just say, it was one of the best baby showers I have ever been to. I had so much fun! I was a little worried about going because I didn't know anyone else who was supposed to be there. But turns out, I actually already knew two of the other guests! Our town is a pretty small town and this shower made me realize how small it really is. This women has a son who is Booger's age and they both went to the same place for speech, as well as being in the same Kindergarten classroom. How cool is that?!?!?!

Even though when I arrived I didn't know who the other women were, they were SUPER nice and welcoming. I am so glad I was able to celebrate with her!

Now my neighbor is a pretty amazing lady. Her and I started really hanging out when M was deployed. We would walk around the neighborhood at least once a week if not more. We also worked out at the Y together. She is the type of friend that you can go weeks or months without talking, then meet up and it's like no time has passed. She used to live literally two houses down from us. But about a year or so ago her and her husband moved, thankfully they only moved two streets away, so we are still able to go for walks and hang out. :) She is awesome because she is a true friend. There aren't too many people in this world I can call a true friend, but she is one I would put on that list.

Her baby shower was beautiful and so much fun! Again, I am sooo glad she invited me!
