4 month check up/New preschool

Baby E had her 4 month check up today. She is 18.1 lbs and 27 inches long. She is above the 95th percentile for both weight and height. It's interesting because Little L was below the 50th percentile for weight and height for the longest time. I guess that's the difference between being born a month early and being born on time. :) We didn't do her immunizations due to her being sick. The doctor said her ears are looking a tad better and her wheezing is improving. We are going to watch it and if it's not improving we will do a short burst of steroids. She is eating well and still sleeping good. Thankfully she is back to her old self again. It's hard watching your little one not act like themselves and not know what is wrong. Even though Little L can use his words, it's sometimes still hard for him to explain what is wrong. We are also working on not encouraging him to say "ouch" unless something actually hurts. He has started to do that for attention.
Today we also went and saw a new preschool for Little L and Baby E. Currently they are at an in home daycare. This is the same lady Little L has been going to since he was 4 months old. She is amazing with the infants, but it seems like once the kids get to a year old, she looses interest and doesn't work with them on anything other than colors and they don't go outside to play. Don't get me wrong, she loves the kids and takes great care of them, but Little L needs more. He will be starting VPK (voluntary pre-kindergarten) in two years!!! He needs to be ready. I don't want him to be behind, and there is only so much I can do working full time. Our friends told us about this preschool that their son goes to. So, we went and visited it. Little L LOVED it there! When we arrived they were doing circle time, they invited him to join and he jumped right in. Then it was time for them to play outside and he joined right in! It was great seeing him having so much fun. The other kids seemed to be enjoying themselves and were well taken care of. The actual building is nothing to brag about, it use to be an old house, and there is stuff everywhere! But it is a smaller preschool and the kids get a lot of attention. Little L was sad when it was time for us to leave. To me that is a good sign.
Even though Little L only had an hour nap today (he generally sleeps between 2-3 hours) it was a pretty good day. I heard from M, got some things accomplished and just enjoyed not going into work today. Although it's back to the daily grind and I'm not looking forward to the note left by the substitute, I just hope it's a good one.
I will leave you with a picture of baby E. :)
