I cannot believe I am the mother to a 4 year old. It just doesn't seem possible. It seems like just yesterday we found out I was pregnant and now here we are 4 years later. We had a great little party for Booger. I cleaned both Saturday and finished up on Sunday. I was pretty proud of how the house looked by the time everyone got there.Anywhoo. As you know we woke Booger up together and went and had breakfast together, then picked up his cake. He decided he wanted a Nemo cake. So that is what we got. I ordered only a 1/4 sheet, M said it wouldn't be enough, but it was :).
Around 1 everyone started showing up. We invited most of M's family, my mom, grandma and our friends whose son is Booger's age. We had quite a few people packed into our little house. M had also invited his parents!!! I was shocked! When we called to invite them, his mom didn't seem one ounce excited that we were including them. She actually sounded like we were asking them to reinvent the wheel. Geeze people. Anyways. They came and basically didn't talk to us once and left early. Oh well, we tried.
Everyone else seemed to enjoy themselves. Our family friends and M's uncle even stayed after the party long enough to have dinner with us.

Booger was quite spoiled. We asked for outdoor toys for him, and that is what he got. We are now the proud owners of multiple baseballs, footballs, a soccer ball, t-ball set, volleyball, and plastic golf club set. I think we are set on outdoor toys for awhile. :)
It really was a great day. Everyone (except M's parents) got along and I think enjoyed themselves. Booger was exhausted by the end of the day, but I think he was pretty happy with his birthday.
To me birthdays are important. It isn't so much about the presents, but that you are celebrating that person. M isn't so fond of birthdays and doesn't see the need for all of the fuss, but birthdays have always been HUGE in my family and I want to continue that with our kids. It's important for them to realize they are special and important and for one day, everything is about them. :)
